Between larger sweaters and cardigans, I often find myself wanting something smaller on my needles. Something I can cast on without too much planning, enjoy over a quiet weekend and, before long, actually wear.
That is one of the things I love about the Field Mittens. They are a small knitting project, but the beautiful details keep the knitting interesting. There is something very satisfying about seeing them take shape so quickly and knowing they will soon keep your hands warm on colder days.
I also think mittens make a lovely handmade gift. They are small enough to knit without committing to another sweater or cardigan, but still feel personal and special to give. Although, I have to admit, once they are finished, giving them away can be the difficult part.
If you are looking for a weekend knitting project, a handmade gift or simply something smaller to have on your needles, the Field Mittens knitting pattern might be just the thing.

One of my favourite things is seeing how you make my patterns your own. Different yarns and colours can give the same design a completely different expression. If you have knitted a pair, I would love to see them. Perhaps your mittens might even become part of one of our Knitting Stories.
For me, not every project needs to be a big one 🧶
Sometimes all I want is a cosy weekend, some beautiful yarn and a small project on my needles. And the Field Mittens are perfect for exactly that.
Happy knitting, Camilla
