Every hand-knit tells a story:

“I knitted Vejers Sweater - it was supposed to be for myself, but it was too small. My daughter also thought it was a bit tight, so it ended up on the kids' half-brother. He may grow into it a bit, but he was happy. I still have time to get one made for myself.”

A favourite pattern can become something completely personal through the yarn we choose, the colours we combine and, most of all, the people we knit for. Sometimes a sweater begins as a project for ourselves and ends up with someone we love. Sometimes a pattern travels with us, helps us learn something new or becomes one we return to again and again.

Dorthe Helios originally knitted the Vejers Sweater for herself, but not every knit ends up with the person it was intended for. When the sweater proved a little too small for both Dorthe and her daughter, it found another home in the family. And happily, there is always the possibility of putting another Vejers Sweater on the needles.
