Magnolia Collection: Knitting Patterns Inspired by a Flower

Magnolia Collection: Knitting Patterns Inspired by a Flower

Some ideas stay with me for years, and Magnolia is one of them.

I have always been drawn to the magnolia flower. There is something about its shape that feels both delicate and strong, and I wanted to capture a little of that feeling in my knitting.

That idea became the Magnolia collection.

The original Magnolia is a soft sweater with a relaxed fit, round yoke and lace pattern. That lace became the starting point for a family of designs, each with its own expression.

Over time, the collection has grown to include designs such as Magnolia Bloom, Magnolia Bloom Cardigan, Magnolia Chunky and Magnolia Chunky Cardigan. Across the different knitting patterns, the Magnolia lace returns in different ways, from delicate sweaters to warmer, chunkier knits.

That is something I love about designing a collection. One idea can keep developing. A familiar detail can take on a completely different character when you change the yarn, shape or proportions.

If you are looking for a lace sweater knitting pattern, a cardigan knitting pattern or simply some inspiration for your next project, there are many different ways to make Magnolia your own.

One of my favourite things is seeing how you interpret Magnolia. Different colours and yarn choices give the lace pattern a new expression every time. If you have knitted a Magnolia design, I would love to see it. Perhaps yours might even become part of one of our Knitting Stories.

For me, Magnolia  has become much more than one knitting pattern 🌸 It began with the shape of a flower and grew into a collection I still love returning to.

Happy knitting, Camilla
