Every hand-knit tells a story.

A favourite pattern can become something completely personal through the yarn we choose, the colours we combine and, most of all, the people we knit for. Sometimes a sweater begins as a project for ourselves and ends up with someone we love. Sometimes a pattern travels with us, helps us learn something new or becomes one we return to again and again.

Virginia Sattler-Reimer fell for the Grærup Sweater as soon as she saw the pattern. The colourwork also gave her the perfect opportunity to bring together partial balls of beautiful yarn already in her stash. The finished sweater has become much more than another knitting project: it is now one of her all-time favourites and a regular companion on winter walks in the woods.
